A Little About Me.
I've been dreaming about becoming an artist ever since I was little, and now that I have managed to work out my regular work schedule with Medevac, I can now spend a little more time in my studio here at the farm. I'm a self-taught mixed-media artist and I love getting my hands into papier mache and air-dry clay. My favorite clay to work with is "Creative Paper Clay." This clay is awesome and it's not so rough on my hands! I've spent a lot of time reading and researching all types of mediums, from painting, collage work, stamping, assemblage, and sewing (just to name a few). I consider myself a mixed-media artist because I combined all mediums into my final product. I have designed two different lines entitled "Whimsies and Little People's." These designs can be seen here at my website and at the following websites: www.rantingraven.com, www.thedollcupboard.com. I have also been working on getting items together to send out to various art magazines. My "Whimsies" will be featured in the October 2007 issue of Indie Arts DVD Magazine. Karen Landey, the Producer of Indie Arts has created such a wonderful avenue for artists to come together and get their work out there for the world to see. Check out her website at www.indieartsdvd.com.
I got my hands on Claudine Hellmuth’s books and her wonderful workshop DVD’s, it was all over! Ann Baldwin, also has a great workshop DVD! The magazine Somerset Studio and Art Doll Quarterly gave me such a chill up my spine that I had to do something, anything to let out this creative bug that has been growing inside me for so many years. These magazines are absolutely fabulous! I started studying everything I could get my hands. Amazon.com and MisterArt.com became my best friends, and still are to this day! Somerset Studio also brought me to the worlds of Lynne Perrella, Lynn Whipple, Lisa Kraus, Misty Mawn, Lauren Mumford, and so many others who I just find incredibly talented and have inspired me tremendously.
My husband and I live in an 1800’s Stone Farm House, which we absolutely love and dreamed about all of our lives. There is a lot to be said with the old saying “never give up on your dreams”. The country life has made my soul come to life in a way that I will cherish forever. I know life sometimes gets in the way, but one thing is for sure, you can NEVER, EVER stop dreaming and believing!
It is my HOPE that my art work will touch that child spirit in all of us and bring us back to our HOPES and DREAMS.
Whenever we get the chance, we should always remember to PLAY!
I would like to dedicate this website to the CHILD in all of us and to my unbelievable husband for his support, faith, and ever lasting unconditional LOVE for me, and for LIFE!
There is HOPE, LOVE, and PEACE for all of US…Never give-up DREAMING, BELIEVING and PLAYING!
GOD BLESS TO ALL … CHEERS!
